Bo Wang is a professor and director in the Nondestructive Examination Engineering Technology Research Center (preparation). He was awarded the title of National Distinguished Expert,  Shaanxi Province Distinguished Expert. And he receives the state council special allowance.

His main research interests include non-destructive testing, signal processing, digital image processing. His research team is in the international leading position in the research of "cold cathode ray detection" and "laser ultrasonic nondestructive testing". The main longitudinal projects currently under research are one major project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and one major project of instruments. Crosswise projects include "Development of a steel bridge deterioration diagnostic device based on laser ultrasonic visual inspection technology", "Development of a self-propelled small X-ray inspection device for high-voltage transmission lines", "Practical development of a laser ultrasonic visual inspection device for on-site use", "Practical development of portable 3D representation X-ray devices". The total amount of funding for foreign research projects is 920 million yen. He has 5 National and provincial projects such as  "Laser Ultrasonic Visualization Tester", "Laser Ultrasonic Visualization Inspection System Development", "Laser Ultrasonic Visualization NDT Platform", etc. He has two international invention patents in the field of non-destructive testing, one European invention patents, two U.S. invention patents, four Japanese invention patent and five China (including Hong Kong) invention patents. He has published ten papers in national and international journals.
